India has fully accepted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, integrating it into national and sub-national policies, governance structures, and development priorities. Here is a video of the journey from 2015, when the SDGs were ratified, localisation, and integration happening over the past decade. It also explains the need for acceleration of the global goals to ensure that the agenda is achieved by 2030.
The programme embodies the principle of leaving no region behind by accelerating development outcomes in blocks and districts which were at the risk of being left behind. With States as the main drivers, this programme focuses on the strengths of each district and block and identify doable actions for immediate improvement, measure progress and rank districts and blocks
Sustainable Development Goals
Adopted in 2015 by all member states of the United Nations, the SDGs are the blueprint for the future we all want. They are a set of ambitious goals that embrace 17 critical areas of importance for a sustainable future.
