Hornbill Festival, the Festival of Festivals
The SDG Coordination Centre (SDGCC) of the Planning & Coordination Department, Government of Nagaland hosted ‘SDG One Stop Destination’ to disseminate information on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in an innovative way during the annual ‘Hornbill Festival, the Festival of Festivals’ organised by Government of Nagaland from December 1-10, 2022 at Kisama Heritage Village.
The festival is aimed at generating SDG-related awareness and sparking action at the local level through participatory games, quizzes, and other fun activities. The major highlights included Traditional Naga Morungs, Exhibition, sale of Arts & Crafts, local food stalls, Herbal Medicine Stalls, Flower Shows and sales, Traditional archery, Naga wrestling, Indigenous games, and learning the art of traditional carving-wood, loin-loom, etc. ‘Green Christmas Corner’ with interactive activities to generate awareness and spark on-ground action on celebrating Christmas in an eco-friendly and sustainable way was another major attraction.
