Aimed at protecting and restoring natural habitats, promoting sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, ensuring conservation of mountain ecosystems, sustainable management of forests, preventing desertification and reversing land degradation and integrating ecosystems and biodiversity into national and local planning by financing and incentivising sustainable management. It seeks to promote equitable sharing of the benefits arising from the utilisation of genetic resources and prevent poaching and trafficking of protected species.
